Foreign Investors

Australia – A great Real Estate Investment opportunity

If you are living overseas, but are not an Australian citizen and do not have a permanent resident visa for Australia, we MAY be able to help you, but firstly invite you to confirm your status in this regard. There may be Australian Federal Government limitations on your ability to buy property here. Your property purchase needs to be approved by the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB), and we invite you to preview these in the FIRB website for more detailed information.

New developments & "off the plan" properties

Approval is normally given for foreign investors to purchase property which is either:

  • newly constructed but has never been occupied or previously sold, and
  • construction that has not yet commenced (‘off the plan') or property which is under; as long as no more than half the dwellings in any one development are sold to foreign investors.

Despite this, we always encourage you to consult firstly with the FIRB website for confirmation of your status.

Seeking approval for vacant land

Approval may be given on the condition that continuous construction of a dwelling starts within 12 months of the purchase. We encourage you to refer to the FIRB website for confirmation of your status.
