Oasis Property: Sydney Buyers Agents

Property Negotiation Seminars

Quick, Entertaining and to the point (40 minute + 20 minute questions)

In the Australian Real Estate industry, you can be sure that the vendor/agent has the superior bargaining power in the negotiation. Or do they?…

Are you shy? Or simply baffled by the market? Do you get nervous when bidding? Maybe you simply feel overwhelmed by the pressure and give too much away.

Whatever happens, trust that it has happened to all of us, but there is only one element that can take these fears away and leave you in a superior bargaining position. Experience. Let Oasis take you a few rungs up the ladder to understand what it means to be in that position.

Negotiation experience

At Oasis, one of our performance indicators for our clients is usually measured my money, and how much we have saved for them. These results are testimony to our success and the service that puts us in a superior negotiationg position, every time..

Combined, we have spent years researching the best methods of negotiation combined with our 'on the ground' experience. Taking mentorship tips from some of the world's best negotiators, including Roger Dawson, Oasis combines an entertaining, easy to understand 40 minute presentation (and your questions after) that enables you to be able to buy your next house and honestly say:

"I could not have bought this property for less". If that amount you can save is only $1000 or $150 000, we are sure your attendance will be well worth the trip.

Negotiation – nothing to it, right?....Wrong!

Property Negotiation is an art, not a science. There is never a set method to draw a result from a negotiation, although there are fundamentals and a formulated approach that CAN put you in a superior bargaining power in most Real Estate transactions.

Negotiation remains our fundamental business centerpiece and the major reason why we can justify our stance as a leading Sydney Buyer's agent. Our research into this field and 'on the market' performances show that some of our tips will give you the best chance of getting your property for the best possible price. Before you hear our tips, it is best that you hear why, with our company philosophy on negotiation.

Our philosophy

How hard do you work for your money? Would you go to work and slave away for 3 months to earn, say $15 000, only to throw it away unnecessarily in an awkward moment with an agent? Hell, the amount might even be a lot larger!

How easy is it to complain about the growing costs of petrol or milk? But do we ever really sit down and think about throwing away thousands of dollars per second (at an auction) or per correspondence during a private treaty with an agent, when we may not have to?

Gavin McPherson, company director gives his thoughts

"When I negotiate, I don't bully, I don't argue and I don't go to make a fool of the real estate agent. What I do though, is imagine myself across a table from the other side (agent/vendor) and I imagine a big pile of cash in the middle of the table. That pile of cash represents the difference in our price points. Many other agents and buyers agents will happily give you half, they take half, and it would seem, walk away happy.

I am not happy until I get every cent in that transaction back for my client, doing everything possible to get the property, and for the right price"

Of course though, it takes a little more than imagining it to make it happen. The rules I apply to negotiation are simple…the buyer is in charge."

Our seminars

It certainly does pay to give yourself the best possible chance of:

  • not paying too much
  • maybe getting a bargain, and
  • not circuming to deceptive conduct from agents

Oasis Property Buyers perform seminars for the property buying public. These seminars are encouraged for those people who:

  • may be first home buyers
  • may be bidding at an auction
  • want an edge over the Sales agent
  • want to know what to expect
  • want to improve their general negotiations skills
  • need improved assertiveness in this field, or
  • may simply be nervous

We operate these seminars at no cost, as we know your enjoyment of our program; our pleasant demeanor and professional staff have always left a good impression. Good impressions usually last, and referral business and kind words have helped our business immensely in the past, and we trust they will do so well into the future. For those of you who sometimes feel like they just can't pull off the 'deal of the decade' by themselves, then we are more than happy to have a discussion about acting for you. It also gives you the opportunity to meet and converse with property professionals from all parts of the Real Estate transaction that are designed to act on behalf of one person – YOU. These are:

  • Buyers Agents
  • Conveyancers
  • Finance Consultants

Every attendee is not obliged AT ALL to enlist for any service from us, and you are given the same diligence during this hour that we give to our dearest clients. You can expect to gain some significant knowledge in the field of Real Estate and fetch some fine pointers about what, and what NOT to do to capture that dream home, including:

  1. How to speak to an agent
  2. What NOT to say
  3. How to present an offer with the best possible chance of it being successful
  4. How NOT to pay too much
  5. How to bid at an auction
  6. The biggest mistakes made by amateur bidders
  7. The largest negotiation secret of them all
